Ziann, my youngest, has been chosen to represent SA in the Action Cricket World Cup 2018, to be held in New Zealand, in September of this year.
I am a single mother with hardly any support and can’t afford this trip. I have asked several institutions/companies for sponsorships, but they are reluctant, as Ziann is not part of one of the big prestigious schools in Paarl (Gymnasium, Boys High). He is in a private school.
Ziann’s life is action cricket, and he has worked very hard for this. It will break my heart to have to tell him he can’t go due to no finances!
All their practices are in Gauteng, and I have paid for 3 practice sessions out of my own pocket (flight and accommodation). But now I can’t anymore. There are several training sessions left – he is again flying up on 5 May. The other training sessions are in June, July, 2 in August, 2 in September. He also needs to take part in the annual IPT’s, to be held in Gauteng end of June, at a cost of R6 000, but I simply do not have the funds for this.
I sincerely ask for help.
