R1 750 of R200 000 raised

Cape Town burlesque performer, the Red Baroness (Lana Te Brugge) is raising awareness about Gender-Based Violence (GBV) setting a target of R200,000 to raise money for two South African charities, SA: Women Fight Back and Saartjie Baartman Home for Women and Children.

The Red Baroness, known fondly by many as Red, is a fiery individual whose passion and love for the art of Burlesque grew from growing up with her theatrical producer and director mother. It was a matter of time before the she found her way onto the Burlesque stage. Now she uses her craft and platform to raise awareness for causes she believes in, having overcome many life challenges herself. Her own experience overcoming Gender-Based Violence (GBV) fuels her passion for this fundraising campaign.

On 27 March 2021, the Red Baroness intends to walk from the bottom of Adderley Street in Cape Town to the High Court as a stand against GBV and raise awareness about this campaign.  She will begin her walk at 09h00.
