Hello!

My name is Heidi and I am the Mother to a beautiful, kind, loving young lady named Shanna (26). I am also the Grandmother to the sweetest young girl named Morgan (9).

Shanna was 16 years of age when she gave birth to Morgan. She is one of thousands of young girls who believe they’re in love and the man they love will stand by them, marry them and live happily ever after. This was not the case and the father left as soon as Morgan was born. Shanna left school and was determined to raise her child to the best of her ability as a single Mother.

Shanna was raised in a tumultuous household where her father suffered from Alcoholism, Bipolar Disorder and PTSD. She spent her days believing that she needed to protect me from her father and his emotional abuse.

This had a profound effect on her and she too developed Bipolar Disorder which she struggles every day to control.

Due to the fact that she had very little income, she was forced to live with her parents and I became Morgan’s carer.

The very difficult years passed and she managed to eventually find her own place to stay. We live in South Africa, which is a country going through many hardships and hitting walls financially and employment-wise is a daily occurrence.

However, this year, she was dismissed from her job and had to move back in with the family.  All the torment and abuse hit her again and this time, also affected Morgan. Her father is adamant that he will not change his ways for anybody. To add the cherry on top, Morgan’s father walked back into the picture and decided he wanted to be there for her. Shanna had little say in the matter as he took over. He had the finances to look after Morgan.

Over the course of a few weeks, he enrolled her into a school where he lives (an hour away) and a week away with him has now turned permanent.

My daughter has become a different person, she feels she has nothing left to live for. The feelings of anger, betrayal, and hopelessness have taken over and she literally lives now from minute to minute, trying to get through each day, looking for jobs and ways she can get her child back and in a good environment.

This is where I have now come in. I simply cannot help her as I too am unemployed and living in the same home. Every day is spent trying to figure out ways to better their lives.

All Shanna needs is a financial push to get her back into her studies, pay off her debts and find a little home for the two of them.

She is highly creative, designs shoes and is teaching herself computer programming. I have no doubt that any funding she receives will help her become a successful young woman and give her the leverage she needs to get her daughter back with her.

This story will be updated with her achievements if I can just implore you to assist her.
