RECYCLING TO FEED STARVING DOGS – GOAL R 380 000
My names Blake Pittaway, I live in sunny South Africa for my 18th birthday instead of having a massive party and receiving presents I used all the money that would have been spent on these to buy dog food for animal shelters.
I decided to take it further and start my own Non-Profit Organisation called Project18 (NPO 223-225) I have managed to raise enough funds to buy over 2 Tons for animal shelters in need.
One of the ways we raise funds is through doing rubbish clean ups in our areas. So where people have dumped rubbish or washed up on the beach we clean it up and recycle what can be recycled this creating an income for Project18 to buy more dog food. So far we have recycled 470kg which is a tiny amount to what we could be doing.
One of the biggest issues we face is that plastic is big and bulky and takes up a lot of space requiring large expensive vehicles to come and move it. We have come up with a solution that will reduce its size by 90% allowing us to more effectively do our clean-ups.
We would like to take it further and build an Eco-Friendly Recycling Unit which will allow us to clean and process more plastic and generate a bigger income for the hungry dogs. Also, we would like to purchase a vehicle that would allow us to deliver the dog food as we have to go on dirt roads and currently don’t have a vehicle to this.
But we need your support!
Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
