My name is Roald and I have developed a gambling addiction which I have started seeing counseling for. It is something that sprung on me during the last couple of months as a result of financial pressures from divorce lawyers, other debt and day to day living.
I’ve been dealt a hard hand in life and just can’t cope at the moment. I’ve always been a driven person with set goals in life but that took a turn for the worst when my dad passed away in 2013. Struggles with anxiety and depression caused many losses to me in the form of friendships, connections and family. I am all on my own and only have my 6 year old son that is keeping me abreast.
I’d say that the gambling has become a coping mechanism to escape life at this moment. I’m currently going through a divorce and a maintenance battle which is adding to the normal day to day stresses of life.
I’m in such a deep dark hole and I cannot see a light at the end of the tunnel. I have nowhere to turn as I mentioned that I don’t have friends or family.
I am in need to cover rent, maintenance, medical aid for my son, and just to be able to put food on the table. I also have debt payments that need to be paid.
I am hoping there are some good Samaritans out there that will be able to assist me in getting through the Months of December and January.
