Our Organization – Ubuntu Crafters wants to develop and expand our Bounty in Bamboo Lane. Our objective is to teach unemployed people in our rural community “how to fish” and to ultimately become self-sustaining backyard food growers.
The produce from our endeavors will be shared amongst the workers and their families as well as sold at our local country market. The profits from our sales will be used to purchase seeds as well as any necessary equipment needed to expand our food sources.
We have 3 hectares of land on which we want to establish grow tunnels, a fish farm (Tilapia) as well as raise chickens and ducks. We need to install a borehole and pump system for irrigation in our grow tunnels – this is essential as we live in a semi-arid area.
We will also extend our efforts and knowledge to include setting up vegetable gardens and chicken coops at various homes – thereby expanding the ethos of Ubuntu Crafters.
Please help us to establish our small teach and thrive farm and provide Food for Life.
