My name is Frikkie and I’m 31 years old. In 2009 I survived a brainstem stroke (both sides). I started walking again by the end of 2010, but still, have an irreversible drop feet syndrome in both my legs.
In 2015, after 4 years of saving, I started my own motorcycle buy, rebuild, and sell business, from home. On Sunday 01 November 2015, I got into an accident with a motorcycle I rebuilt. My helmet came off on impact and as a result, I suffered serious trauma to the head, which later caused a malignant brain tumour on my frontal lobe. I also lost half of my left foot in the accident.
The dream right now is to start my own small online IT support business, from home, and have some sort of financial stability in my life before the brain cancer eventually progress and gets worse. I believe that having that kind of stability again will allow me more time to work on my Afrikaans book I believe God has made part of my journey. Also to leave something to help my mom when I am no longer around. The book I’m busy with is based on my life and how I allowed people to influence my relationship with God to such an extent that I strayed from my path as Christian for 19 years. I believe God wants to use my story as a warning to the youth of today and to show them what they are heading at in their godless ways.
