I am requesting for financial assistance for my attendance at the Polokwane School for Legal Practice. I recently got admission into the school but I’m saddled with the payment if the tuition fee of R15 150. The most challenging task is that at least R8000 should be paid before classes commence on the 11th January.
Attending this course is important as it provides law graduates with the opportunity to acquire and develop practical legal skills to become effective legal practitioners. I completed my degree in 2018 and has since not been able to secure articles of clerkship at any law firm because most law firms prefer candidates with Practical Legal Training. I strongly believe that attending this course will improve my prospects of being hired as a candidate attorney.
At university they only teach us the theory part of law, i need to be exposed to the practical side of it because that’s what actually happens in practice. Law schools are specifically there in order for law graduates to obtain the practical legal skills they could not obtain at university level. It’s understandable that most law firms would prefer candidates with Practical Legal Training because it is convenient for them as the candidate already has an idea and a good background of what happens in practice.
We are a family of nine and we depend solely on social grants to survive. I am the first person to go to university and actually obtain a degree in my family so getting a job as a candidate and start taking care of them would be a blessing to us and it would mean that I’m getting closer to my dream of getting admitted as an attorney so i can start practicing.
I would appreciate your support and generosity.
