WE NEED YOUR HELP AGAIN DEAR FRIENDS OF KILMORNA MANOR. PLEASE HELP ME SAVE 67 000 PUPPIES’ LIVES.
The single most important thing that we can do to save cats and dogs from all the suffering and death that their overpopulation causes are to spay and neuter them. Spaying and neutering are routine surgeries that can prevent thousands of animals from being born, only to suffer and struggle to survive on the streets, be abused by cruel or neglectful people, or be euthanized in animal shelters for lack of a loving home.
Spaying and neutering are making a big difference: Just one unaltered female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 puppies in only six years. In seven years, one female cat and her offspring can produce an incredible 370,000 kittens!
Along with the Community Veterinarian Clinic, we would like to spay 6 dogs and neuter 6 dogs, as well as spay 3 cats and to vaccinate them all. This is in a community that does not have the means to do this. As I type one of the dogs there is already pregnant – again – and another one on heat.

The Community Veterinary Clinic (CVC) is a tax exempted non-profit organisation with BEE status. It is a South African Veterinary Association initiative, which provides primary health care services (sterilisations, vaccinations and parasite control) for animals in disadvantaged communities. The CVC also strives to educate pet owners in these communities about caring for their animals.
Laura-Ann Keates has approached us to arrange a sterilisation drive in an impoverished community in the Schoemanskloof area. She has estimated that there are 15 animals that require sterilisation and another 6 that only require Rabies vaccinations. While veterinary staff donate their time to this cause, all other costs are covered by donations. We would need R400 to cover the cost of sterilising one animal. This means that we would need to raise R6000 to sterilise all 15 animals. Any donations to this cause would be greatly appreciated by us and this community.”
