Thembi is a God-fearing 39-year-old wife and mother of 3 children. On the 23rd of December 2018, she was diagnosed with Leukemia. She spent Christmas and New Year in the hospital.
Thembi resides in Diepsloot, a densely populated township in the north of Johannesburg, South Africa. Unfortunately, Thembi and her husband fall under the minimum wage category. They do not have the finances to fund the treatment that Thembi needs in order to “kick cancer’s backside”.
Thembi’s hospital stay and treatment from 21 December 2018 to 11 January 2019, has already amounted to ZAR R45 000. The hospital, Charlotte Maxeke, also known as Johannesburg General Hospital, has refused further treatment and medication until she can repay the debt.
I have started this campaign for Thembi so that she can settle her current debt and pay for her treatment going forward. The donated funds will also cover her transport to and from the hospital, as well as any unforeseen costs related to her treatment.
