Akhanathi and Avela Mkolozele have been selected to represent the Eastern Cape at the All ages, being held in Boksburg 26-29 June 2022 (U12-U16)(U17-U18).
This tournament takes place on an annual basis and assists in promoting netball as the fastest growing women’s sport in South Africa. The Eastern Cape is represented by 14 netball teams of ten players in each age group from 12 years to 18 years.
The teams consist of a squad of 10 players who are selected based on skill. Each of the participants benefits immensely by competing in netball at national level where their interpersonal as well as netball skills develop with this exposure.
Besides this, many of the players are afforded the opportunity to travel and expand their horizons for the first time. The cost for each player is R9 000 for accommodation, transport and playing attire.
This is most certainly an opportunity that very few underprivileged and disadvantaged children have previously been exposed to. Very few households are privileged enough to afford this. They then become dependent on donors and sponsors to assist in the raising of funds.
Kindly consider contributing towards assisting this player to be able to attend the tournament and represent the Eastern Cape. This is an excellent achievement where selection was the reward for many hours of practice and hard work. Your contribution will make a positive difference in the life of a girl child.
