We at Siyakunakekela aim to address the issue of Period Poverty in South Africa. It is hard to comprehend that in the year 2022 their still exists Period Poverty worldwide.

It is estimated that over 7 000 000 menstruating ladies miss work, school or university due to period poverty each month. Condoms are free but Menstrual Hygiene is not a Basic Human Right. The one blood loss that is indicative of a healthy reproductive cycle carries the most emotional and mental shame. Stigmatizing Menstruation needs to end.
