REMEMBERING ANNETTE – GOAL R 50 000
Activist and artist Annette Kennealy was murdered on her farm on 20 May 2019. She is fondly remembered as a vivacious, caring, mischievous artist, animal lover, cook and social commentator. She was a driven campaigner against the scourge of farm murders. Her murder sent a community reeling and triggered shock waves around the globe with reports of her death in newspapers and on websites in Europe, Australia and the USA.
I propose to produce a full-length documentary on the life and murder of Annette in the wider context of the onslaught against farmers in South Africa. I want to interview people regarding the causes and try and postulate as to what can be done to prevent these horrors.
In this endeavour I have the full blessing and co-operation of her mother.
This documentary will be screened locally and abroad and will be available on pay-per-view and DVD.
Help me to honour a singular person, a dazzling flicker of light in a dark world.
