My very best friend had a very serious heart attack on December 21, 2018. In fact, she had two. The diagnosis was – after seeing a cardiologist, that she only had 30% working capacity left and needed an urgent triple bypass. She was in Hospital (ICU) on her daughter’s 21st birthday and had to stay throughout Christmas day. They finally got a date on which the operation could take place and I’m happy to say that the operation was a success.
All of this was happening while her 4 children were 300 km away at home where her family and friends live. The traumatic experience has had a very depressing effect on everyone’s morale and the air is very sombre. With all that had to be paid, they are now in dire financial straights and is on the verge of losing their assets.
They have already sold many items out of desperation to cover the cost of the medicine my friend had to use prior to the operation and thereafter. They are now on the verge of also losing their house, which will have an entire family out on the street. The money requested on this page is just a drop in the bucket, but it will definitely fill some holes.
My heart breaks for my friend. I love her dearly. She has always been there for me in my time of need and if I can just do this for her, I (and those who donated money) would be able to give them peace of mind.
