Meet Oliver Sutter, affectionately known to his friends as ‘Olie’. While in labor Olie’s Mom developed yellow fever which he contracted and led to a lack of oxygen to the brain which mostly affected the motor cortex in his brain. This led to Ollie being born with cerebral palsy.
Oliver is permanently wheelchair bound and cannot perform basic essential functions. He requires constant care from physical carers who live in his home 24/7 to help him do the things that we take for granted.
After Oliver’s Mom passed away in 2019 and his Dad was retrenched, they have been in dire financial straits with a shortfall of approximately R10 000.00 per month. They are also currently in arrears with municipal bills. In addition to this, there are the constant medical costs and his electric wheel chair, which is falling apart. If they don’t get help, Oliver and his Dad will not survive.
Oliver is one the most inspirational people you’ll meet. He maintains a positive attitude, despite his serious challenges. We would like to take that inspiration and do something to help him and his Dad, with the help of our Community.
