Two weeks ago, this beautiful young lady was robbed and beaten up on her way home from the grocery store. She was surprised and surrounded by 7-8 guys (they all had their faces covered so to date have been untraceable).
They took her phone, cash and even the groceries she had just bought… One of them noticed her ATM card and that’s when they really started beating her around wanting the pin number, finally kicking her in the mouth which caused Akhona to lose one of her teeth. Akhona eventually gave them the correct pin just to get them away. Two of her attackers then ran to a nearby ATM and withdrew ALL of her money!!!
A case has been opened with SAPS (case number:___). Akhona called the bank to query the process of getting her stolen money back. After days of being sent from pillar to post the bank has told her that they are not liable for the stolen cash which means that she has no funds available for everyday things, or alone all the added expenses of the trauma she has survived… ??? We cannot believe there is nothing that can be done.
These cowards took more than her money, THEY HAVE STOLEN HER sense of security, dignity and peace!
Having her accounts drained and having her face and body beaten until within an inch of her life… She is UNABLE TO WORK and provide for herself and her 2 small children.
I am trying to help raise funds at the moment to help Akhona with the following:
1. Medical bills and medication
2. Dental bills so she can smile again
3. Therapy for her and her children
4. Household necessities (rent, electricity, groceries … Etc) 6. Transport (public transport)
I can only imagine the pain and TRAUMA Akhona has endured. Please; let us get together and UPLIFT this family! Together… We can make a difference.
