My name is Pieter Rautenbach. I come from a small town named Volksrust located in Mpumulanga. I have a single mother, my father passed away when I was 4. My mother was there for me and my brother my whole life. She supported me wherever she could. My rugby career started at a young age where I played only small school rugby. But this year I was given the chance to go and play AVS Bokkieweek. This was already a big step for me for my rugby career. We were supported by sponsors to make this opportunity to come to life. Then I was chosen for the National AVS Bokkie-team to go and play in Spain. This is the opportunity of a lifetime given to me.
