Dad was born on 31 October 1951.
Diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic cancer in October 2018. My dad has deteriorated drastically since being diagnosed. Cancer has spread to all he’s organs. We as a family are strained financially. My mother gets a monthly pension which does not cover all expenses. We are struggling financially for his daily medicine and nappies. My mother stays with him 24 hours a day. Our family was blessed to have the hospice take him in for a short while but he is being sent home again next week where my mother will continue to take care of him 24 hours a day. We are pleading for financial assistance as we are struggling financially to buy him his medicine, nappies and the things he requires. My parents’ electricity is also in the process of being disconnected due to the financial strain currently. We as a family are financially in a very deep hole and we ask for any help and assistance.
My dad worked all his life as a signwriter for himself, never had any medical aid, pension or any policies which also makes it a lot more difficult. We are trying the best we can to make him as comfortable as possible the best we currently can. In October of 2018, the doctors at steve biko hospital in Pretoria gave him 6 months to a year to live. Each day is a struggle and he is struggling with the pain and suffering.
