The shack belonging to Mr Oupa Koos Lesege burned on Friday, 05 June 2020 at about 00:00. One occupant said he was asleep when smoke filled his shack and woke him up. The 4 rooms burned to the ground and nothing was saved from the fire. This happened in 17978 EXT17, Jouberton, Klerksdorp.
The fire destroyed their SASSA cards, ID’s and other possessions. All the 4 occupants are unemployed and depends on government grant.
The families still need more to restart their lives; it was very said to see that they have lost all their possessions. We are appealing to anyone willing to assist with clothing, food, furniture, corrugated irons (roof sheet), doors, windows, poles, wooden planks and nails to donate to the family so that they can rebuild their shack.
