COVID-19 HELPING HAND FOOD – GOAL R 40 000

R0 of R40 000 raised

With Covid 19 … hunger arrived!!

Covid 19 was suddenly there – on the whole planet and for everyone.

It also arrived in South Africa, and the “lockdown” came quickly with almost no warning for the local population! A very strict curfew was introduced – for everyone for 7 months already!!!!!

For many food is hard to come by.

Our area now has up to 85% unemployment – even before Covid 19, it was very high. But many people found jobs on the citrus plantations as day labourers and lived from “today to tomorrow”! But for 7 months there has been no “tomorrow” possible and “the day after tomorrow” is also not in sight!!

No wages – means no food …so simple is this! The families of the “Lusito Association” are on the brink of despair. What’s next? Where do they get food – when nobody was allowed to work?

Together with our friend and partner Trygive, we have put together small food packages for the families of the Lusito Association in the past few days. We pack together basic food and essential items such as detergents and masks. Our friends and helpers distribute among the families that need it the most.

This gives us the opportunity to provide the poorest of the poor with food; the disabled people who otherwise have absolutely no income. Such a package costs around R 300 that is $ 16 and this feeds a family of 6 for about a week!

We know that donations will not be possible for everyone at the moment, but we want to support the disabled people as much as possible especially as South Africa was hit the hardest during this hard time

We have set up a website for the project and the food packages on a donation platform called “Facebook” and hope for your support too!! Every little bit helps!

We will stand firm together and look forward to continuing to do so with your help!

And please: Help us and share this message with all your friends!!

Support us financially and we insure that it will arrive at the right spot where it’s needed most, namely with the children of the “Lusito Disabled Centre” and their families.
