FUNDING FOR RICHARD’S EYE – GOAL R100 000
On the 19th of March 2022 our cousin, Richard Milne suffered a freak injury to his left eye.
In a tragic, unexpected accident, Richard was shot by a pellet gun directly in his eye. He was immediately rushed to Milpark Hospital by his family, where he was stabilized.
The specialized Ophthalmologist attempted to save the eye where a lengthy and delicate procedure took place, but the medical staff where unable to save his vision in that eye.
The healing of the eye muscles, tissues and nerves will take months of continued cleaning and patience to fully understand the full extent of the damage.
While we all remain optimistic, Richard will need to continue with surgical procedures and rehabilitation to repair the severe damage caused, before preparing for future surgeries and exploring future possibilities.
Anyone that has had the fortune of knowing Richard, knows how genuinely kind and generous he is with his care and love for those around him. He has remained astoundingly upbeat and although his vision has been halved, he has continued to see God’s hand in his life. He has found the blessings during challenges and pain.
While stable, Richard has only just begun his long journey to recovery; both physically and emotionally, a journey that has placed an immense cost on himself and his Family.
We, his cousins and extended family are asking for help in the form of prayers, ongoing supportive words and importantly financial contributions, no matter how big or small, to aid Richard on this difficult journey.
