HOLLANDIA TRADING GHANZI, BOTS – GOAL R 500 000
Hollandia Trading in Ghanzi, Botswana is situated next to Ghanzi Butchery just off the A3 Trans-Kalalahari highway. Built in 1948 the building was the wholesale and filling station before Ghanzi had tarred roads.
Our friend, Hanri Ehlers, the owner, went through arduous and meticulous planning to rejuvenate this land mark in Ghanzi. She kept the building and interior to its original state with a modern twist for everyone to enjoy. All available resources were used to build this dream that was not only a job, but a labour of love.
Here they served, host and provide an authentic Ghanzi experience for all, travellers and locals! A space that supports the local community, hand craft and art and brings together the local people and heritage. It has also employed local people and served the community.
In the early hours of 31 October 2020 the facility burnt down. The course of this devastation is still unknown. Hollandia will unfortunately therefore be closed until further notice. The rebuilding of this historical land mark and provider of labour and produce to all, will be a massive effort with huge financial impact. This plus the loss of income or the next 6-7 months, following the impact of Covid19 will be devastating.
We have decided to start this and ask friends to financially assist with this massive rebuilding effort. Follow the links and please make a donation. Thank you to all our loyal supporters, we appreciate your support.
