Fort Grey Public School was built in 1952 as a farm school mainly for children whose parents were working at the farms, and it later transformed into a public school. It caters for children from disadvantaged backgrounds in the surrounding areas of Bhompini in East London.
The school’s infrastructure is not in a good condition for teaching and learning. It accommodates more than 300 learners from grade R-7 with only 8 classrooms that are not in conditions for teaching and learning.
The school has 1 office with more than 10 staff members. There are no grounds for sports and other academic activities. The school’s infrastructure is made up of zinc which makes it more dangerous for learners and teachers.
