Good Day all,
My name is Charnè Arendse who resides in Kudu Avenue, Lotus River.
I’m 33 years of age. In 2018 I had a leg amputation due to a blood clot. Being at home was tough as I needed to adjust my lifestyle being in a wheelchair.
We moved to Lotus River in November 2021. New environment and meeting new people. We are a family of 3; myself, my husband and my 6-year-old son.
Moving from Bridgetown to Lotus River was a completely different area.
Whilst staying in Lotus River for the past 3 months, I saw a need especially in the community. Lots of unemployed people and young kids dropping out of school.
I have gathered the kids on a daily basis at my place to keep the kids off the streets. In Lotus River one can easily turn to gangsterism or even the use of drugs.
Some days the kids even ask for pieces of bread as unemployment is high these days. Whatever I have, I share with them.
The reason for writing this is that I’m seeking any donations of food, clothing or shoes to hand out to the less fortunate. Monetary donations are also welcomed and appreciated.
My husband takes from the little he gets to help feed kids in the area as well as the elderly.
