South Africa has been escalating recently in South Africa like a pandemic. Women and child abuse has been on a rise and while policies are in place less has been done to end GBV.
The only way we can stop the cycle of domestic violence and women abuse, is to come together and end the silence. Men and young men need to be part of the advocacy process. Awareness needs to be intensified and local structures of Community Based Organisations, faith Based organisations and traditional leaders involved together with government departments, NGOs and corporate.
Schools and Universities should in their teaching strengthen teaching on Gender based Violence. Victims of gender based violence need counselling and empowerment together with legal institutions in the country.
