My name is Caleb Marinus. I am a 9-year-old boy. On the 25th of December 2017, I had 2 sever seizures. I spent Christmas and New Year in the hospital.

Shortly after New Year, I was diagnosed with rare cancer called Paraganglioma. This cancer is busy attacking my nervous system. I am 9 years old and don’t really or completely understand the severity of my situation as you would, all I know is that I’m very, very sick.I have many aspirations and dreams. I want to become a doctor and work for the SA Army, instead of hospitals. Other days I want to be a pilot. Some days I even dream of being a respectable and responsible young man that will take care of his mother and sisters, but my dreams can only become a reality when my illness is cured.

I am undergoing an operation this month, and is very scared, but also hopeful that I won’t be sick anymore. My operation is expensive; therefore, I am telling my story, hoping that you would support my family and me throughout my journey.

Please give me hope. Hope that I will one day be what I aspire to be, may it be a pilot, a doctor or a respectable young man. Hope that I will be cured of my illness and mostly, please give me hope for a cancer-free tomorrow.

My name is Caleb Marinus and I am asking you to give me hope.

Thank you.
