Help us send our young people to Johannesburg for the Bible Challenge! The Junior Soldiers (children members of the church) of The Salvation Army Goodwood Corps are committed to learning the Bible and applying it to their lives.
They have been studying the Book of Acts over the last several months, committing to memorization, understanding, and application of God’s Word.
In October, nine of our young people competed in 3 teams at the Western Cape Divisional Bible Challenge at the Sunday School camp with over 100 young people. There, six of these young people came in 1st and 2nd place. This qualified them to compete at the Territorial Bible Challenge in Johannesburg, where they hope to be crowned champions for the Southern Africa Territory.
The Salvation Army Southern Africa Territory encompasses five countries: South Africa, Namibia, the Island of St Helena, Lesotho and eSwatini (Swaziland). We need your help in prayer and fundraising.
The funds raised will go directly to the cost of the weekend for our 2 teams and chaperones, including: flights, meals, accommodations, and uniforms. Last year, Goodwood won the Territorial Bible Challenge and our young people are hoping to bring the trophy home this year as well. The total cost of the trip is R37,000 (which is about $2500 USD).
