My name is Katlego Malesa. To describe myself, I am resilient and faithful individual who strive to do anything with integrity and honesty. In 2020, I enrolled with the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg South Africa for Masters of Engineering in Telecommunications and I self-funded my registration although I was unable to fund the rest of my tuition fee which is currently sitting at R69 619,10.
This has made it difficult for me to enroll again this year(2021) to finish my degree. The desire for me to continue with my studies came after I became part of an interesting start-up company as a firmware developer where I was mostly involved in programming both actuators and sensors. This has given me the opportunity to be open-minded person and to have a deep interest in engineering. It then came into my mind to pursue and further my studies.
Ultimately, in the near future I would love to help my country to compete in technical sector in terms of innovation and engineering. I would love to be able to start a company which invests in and develops ideas for new technology. This would in result provide other engineers or give them the capability of funding their proof of concepts for their ideas and prototypes and also improve country’s economy.
Being able to raise the donations I need for my studies would eventually lighten my burden and help me to continue with my studies without having to stress about the fees that I owe.
