MeCAHT seeks to bridge the gap between being at a safe house and reintegration into society for survivors of trafficking.
We run a reintegration centre which provides an opportunity to the women to actually have a taste of the real world like gaining experience with work, honing a skill, paying of bills and accessing counselling during the post care. The main approach is role modelling where survivors can actually watch how other staff navigate the real world with full agency, autonomy and dignity. This Reintegration centre runs a sustainable Freedom Business called iGUGU, which is geared towards financial empowerment of survivors.
We provide outreach services to victims of trafficking by visiting them on the streets and providing friendships that build trust. They can talk to us and we refer them when they need rescue.
We want to make face masks and social distancing flags to sensitize poor communities on dangers of COVID -19 and how it breeds human trafficking.
Our annual international human trafficking conference provides capacity building, networking, recruits new practitioners and celebrates survivors. Our films are used for awareness in rural areas that are vulnerable to traffickers.
