Due to covid, my mom’s government subsidised old age home is in dire straits financially. Their biggest concern is the roof in the kitchen that has collapsed from the rain.
Covid left 3 people dead in her home and a lot of vacant rooms. They were also not able to do any fundraising due to lockdown. Thankfully I pulled her out just in time and she had to stay with me for 7 weeks. Not any easy task with someone who has dementia.
Children now need to supply all necessary toiletries, extra snacks as meals have reduced in quantity and toilet paper. My biggest concern is that there are very few old age homes that take dementia patients and if they had to close, I’m not sure where she will be able to go to get the proper care.
We already waited 3 years to get her into Uitisg.
