I am a final year student at the University of Johannesburg. I’m under the guardianship of my grandmother who has been my guardian for as long as I can remember. My mom sort of left me with her and never looked back when I was a few months old, I’ve never met her. I also have no idea who my biological father is. My grandmother took care of me and somehow found a way to put me into a good school.
However University proved to be extremely expensive so I was funded by NSFAS but unfortunately I got affected by the N+1 rule at the beginning of the 2022 academic year. Fortunately for me I had already registered and managed to get through the year, as difficult as it was.
NSFAS left me with a debt of R13047 at the beginning of 2022 from 2021, fortunately I got some form of funding and this year I have a debt of R24449 half of which needs to be paid before I can register. I require R3780 for registration and R12250 so I can register.
I would really appreciate any contributions towards these costs.
