This beautiful old house was built between 1890 and 1900 in Mayville a Suburb of Pretoria in South Africa, In the Era of Paul Kruger and the Anglo Boer war. (We are still in the process of finding out who the first owners were and the exact build date, through the help of Museum curators and Academics in Gauteng). Through the years it has exchanged many owners and the upkeep of the building and grounds were not done very well, resulting in the state of the house that is in now.
Myself and my wife have been caretakers of the property for the past 6 years until the sad passing of the owner, Mr Tom Reyneke in January 2022.
After his passing we decided to make an offer on the house and bought it from his wife in April 2022.
We are in love with this house and the history surrounding it. We want to restore it to its full glory and try and preserve its history for many generations to come.
