Shasheme is the city that I left my umbilical cord behind. It always will have a huge place in my heart. With the recent unrest in Ethiopia it is one of the cities that is affected the most, that includes my families too and several extended families too.
Schools, buildings, shops, houses, citizens are sleeping in the nearby churches. The city is damaged beyond recognition. It is a home for Rastafarians for so many years. I and my fellow Ethiopians who were born and raised in that city felt the urge to do what we can to rebuild the city.
