My husband was diagnosed with last stage renal failure, in 2011. From being an athlete to almost losing his life, was a very traumatic time for us. In 2013 he received a kidney transplant from his sister, and went to therapy, learning to start over from the beginning. In 2016, he was handed a lifeline, when he was invited to be part of the South African transplant team, to go for running trials in Johannesburg, where he then qualified and made the team and obtained his South African colours, and a chance to represent his country in Spain last year.

He came home with a bronze medal and has the South African record in both long and high jump. He is unemployed, and due to a lack of funding, they have to raise funds in order to make the trip to the next world games in London Newcastle Gateshed, in London. It is a struggle. It is up to us to try and raise funds for him and myself, to make it to the next games.

I know he is going to make us proud and also give hope to other people, who can draw inspiration from seeing a person rise from his disability, and make something of the second chance he was given in life.

Your contributions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your support.
